SchoolSlots Pro — Installation & Setup Guide

Get your school booking system up and running in less than 5 minutes. Follow these simple steps to install the plugin, configure your teachers, and publish your first conference.

Step 1: Install and Activate the Plugin

Download the schoolslots-pro.zip file from your purchase confirmation email or customer dashboard.
In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Plugins ➔ Add New ➔ Upload Plugin.
Choose the zip file and click Install Now, then click Activate Plugin.
When prompted, enter your License Key to enable one-click automated updates.

Step 2: Configure Teachers and Consultation Rooms

Before creating an event, configure your faculty roster:

Navigate to SchoolSlots ➔ Teachers & Rooms in your WordPress admin menu.
Bulk CSV Import: Click Import CSV to upload your entire staff list in one click (teacher name, email, department, room number, and weekly consultation window). Our smart importer automatically prevents duplicates.
Alternatively, click Add New Teacher to enter staff members manually.

Step 3: Create a School Booking Event

Go to SchoolSlots ➔ Events ➔ Add New Event.
Select your event type:
- Central Conference: Simultaneous parent-teacher evening with multiple rooms.
- Weekly Consultation: Recurring weekly office hours.
- Open Day: Prospective family tours with real-time visitor capacity quotas.
- Senior Photos: Dedicated photo-session appointment slots.
- School Ball / Gala: Guest entry passes and table ticket management.
Configure your meeting slot durations (e.g., 10, 15, or 20 minutes) and optional buffer minutes between meetings.
Save and publish the event.

Step 4: Display the Booking Form on Your Website

Create a new page (e.g., Parent-Teacher Conference) and insert the appropriate shortcode:

Main Conference Booking: Displays the full booking workflow, including teacher filters, slot booking, and the Sibling Route Planner for multi-child families.

Open Day Registration: Displays registration forms with real-time capacity progress indicators.
[schoolslots_photos]
Photo Session Booking: Displays time-slot booking for graduating class photo sessions.
[schoolslots_scanner]
PWA Camera Check-in Scanner: Add this to an internal page for door staff and teachers to check in parents at the main entrance using a smartphone camera. (Requires an HTTPS connection).
